That’s an interesting line from a favorite G-Love tune called “This Ain’t Living”, a hip-hop blues song from the perspective of a homeless man. I bring it up because I have been battling a crazy cough/fever combo and I keep saying that line to myself. If you’ve heard any of my Rhymer Reasons Fitness Minutes (find old ones here), then you know that one of my life philosophies is that the bad times are the most important times of your life. Not the most enjoyable, but the most important, because it is during these times that you become very thankful for when you have it good, and often hit your knees asking God to get you back there.
Sickness is a perfect time to be thankful for all the healthy moments of your life. Like I tell my clients during a hard training session, “If during every session you felt amazing and the work seemed easy, you wouldn’t see any progress. It’s the “bad” training days that make the good days great!
So, as stupid as this sounds, “Thank you” crazy cough/fever for reminding me just how much I love being healthy!
Hello from Sacramento! I’m attending the National Youth Workers Convention and debuting my Christian fitness curriculum for youth groups called SMX - Sunday Morning Xtreme. Take a quick look into my booth and I’ll be back over the weekend with another update:
Check out this week’s Power Devo as we battle stress and tackle the #1 Kettlebell exercise that you have to know if you are working with kettlebells. Also, this video is dedicated to my good client Billy Moore, who just loves to work with kettlebells
Keep swinging, Billy!
