Thank you to everyone who came out for 3 “Give Back and Get Fit” Bootcamps last week! We were able to give 36 kids books and 5 gift cards to the Bethlehem Center!
This event got me thinking (always a dangerous proposition!). I want to be the Ty Pennington of fitness. There will be a day (I’m saying it here so that maybe you will hold me accountable), where our company provides interesting fitness opportunities for companies or other organizations as a fundraiser or other charity event. How cool would it be to know that every bootcamp or fitness session you were leading with a group, 2 things were happening:
1) They were getting stronger, leaner, or just better at whatever they do, and 2) Someone else was being affected either through gifts, money, or just time spent with them. There I said it, now let’s see where God takes us as I add this to the goals list.
We had a “Give Back and Get Fit” Bootcamp last Wednesday where 4 athletes made some donations to the Bethlehem Center, then were “treated” to a special Rhymer Fitness Bootcamp. We played “Roll the Bones” - roll 2 dice, and go to the dry-erase board to see what your number represents. It may be anything from “Tire Chaos” to Kettlebells to the dreaded Fireman pulls with the Joe D Bands. We had a blast…here’s a sneak peak:
There will be 2 more bootcamps this week! Here are the details:

The cost for each bootcamp is a $15 gift card to Wal-Mart or Bi-Lo
OR
Three (3) kids books for ages 10 and under, wrapped and ready to go
under the tree! (Make a note on the package if they are for girls or boys
and approximate age)
These gifts will go to the Bethlehem Center (www.bethlehemcenter.org).
Thisis part of our Sunday School classes Adopt-A-Family program.
Each bootcamp is a drop-by event. Come anytime during the time frame
and stay as long as you like. We will explore with bands, medicine balls,
barbells, kettlebells, and other odd implements.
We will also have some creative cardio and core time…or as I like to
call it “coradio”.
Tell your friends and this could also be a cool corporate event, so pass it along!
Let me know if there are any other questions and shoot me a quick note if you can
make it!
Live with Strength!
